about me
hello 🙂 my name is amanda
I’m super thrilled to have you here. As a girl who has ADHD and autism herself, I totally understand the unique challenges (and successes) that come with traveling through this -interesting- life. Through this blog, I want to shed light on the experiences of girls with ADHD and autism by sharing some personal insight, strategies, and information that may empower and inspire. My goal is to build this blog into a comprehensive source, a one-stop-shop, for AuDHD girlies to learn more about themselves.
It’s definitely no secret that ADHD and autism are regularly misunderstood and underdiagnosed in girls and women. Girls tend to present differently, and their symptoms can be overshadowed, leading to misconceptions and missed opportunities for support all throughout their lives. This is why I’m passionate about creating a safe and inclusive space where we can explore the specifics regarding girls and women who live the AuDHD experience.
I am not a medical professional, but I have a masters degree in special education. I originally pursued this degree because I wanted to learn more about myself, but I gained a whole lot of information and a passion along the way. Because of this, I can bring both personal and professional expertise to this blog. My educational journey has equipped me with valuable insights into effective strategies that can help girls and women with AuDHD thrive throughout their lives. However, I believe that learning from one another is just as important, so I encourage you to share your experiences and wisdom as well!
With this blog, you can expect a wide range of content tailored specifically to girls and women with ADHD and autism (AuDHD.) Please remember that this blog is a judgment-free zone where everyone’s experiences and perspectives are valued. Whether you’re a girlie with ADHD or autism, a parent seeking guidance, an educator looking for insights, or simply curious about this topic, you’re welcome here. Please understand that I am also a girlie with AuDHD. I am only able to provide information filtered through my personal lens and there are still MANY things that I am learning every single day.
Love and kisses,
Amanda xoxo
